Terms and Conditions

1. Contract Information

  • 1.1 Praktiki Ltd ("Praktiki", "we", "us", or "our") is a medical education company registered in England and Wales (company number 16081132). By accessing the Praktiki website and app ("Site") and services ("Services"), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
  • 1.2 If you register as a user, a contract between you and Praktiki Ltd incorporating these Terms and Conditions comes into effect. We reserve the right to refuse membership without providing a reason.
  • 1.3 Praktiki may add, modify, or discontinue any aspect of the Services or Site at any time.
  • 1.4 We may update these Terms and Conditions periodically. Material changes will be notified to you by email or in-app notice before they take effect; other changes take effect on publication. Continued use after notice indicates acceptance.

2. The Site and Services

  • 2.1 We aim to provide access to the Site and Services 24/7 but may suspend access without notice for maintenance, security reasons, or suspected breaches of these Terms and Conditions.
  • 2.2 To maintain security, we may require periodic password changes. If your password expires, you will need to reset it to regain access.
  • 2.3 Access to certain features may depend on criteria such as your professional qualifications. We may update these criteria at our discretion.
  • 2.4 Praktiki may introduce charges for new services or new registrations in future. Members who registered during the free access period will retain free access to their existing membership tier. Any chargeable service will be clearly identified as such before you use it, with at least 30 days' notice and the option to cancel.
  • 2.5 We reserve the right to deactivate accounts that have been inactive for 90 days. We will notify you in advance so you can maintain access. Deactivation is not deletion; personal data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
  • 2.6 We may edit, remove, or archive any content posted on the Site, including user-generated content, without prior notice.
  • 2.7 Praktiki may allow anonymous posts; this feature may be revoked if abused or where required for legal or operational reasons.
  • 2.8 Praktiki supports major up-to-date browsers such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Safari. You are responsible for maintaining an up-to-date browser for optimal functionality.

3. Membership Tiers

  • 3.1 Praktiki offers two free membership tiers. Basic provides access to every module for your speciality across web and app. Premium provides everything in Basic, plus curated email alerts about newly published expert-led modules matched to your stated speciality and interests, which may include partner and sponsored modules.
  • 3.2 You may switch between tiers at any time in your account settings, in one click. Email alerts are provided on the basis of your consent, as described in our Privacy Policy; switching to Basic withdraws that consent and stops the alerts. Switching tiers does not affect your access to modules.

4. Content, Sponsorship and Compliance

  • 4.1 Praktiki publishes independent educational content and content developed with, or sponsored by, third parties including medical societies and pharmaceutical companies. Sponsorship is always disclosed on the module.
  • 4.2 Some content is promotional material provided by pharmaceutical companies, which may relate to prescription-only medicines. Promotional content is clearly identified as such and is only sent by email to members who have given prior permission to receive it.
  • 4.3 Sponsored and promotional content is developed, reviewed, and labelled in accordance with applicable industry codes of practice, including the ABPI Code of Practice (UK), the EFPIA Code of Practice (Europe), and the PhRMA Code (US), and other codes of practice as applicable in the relevant market.
  • 4.4 If you become aware of a suspected adverse event relating to a medicine, you should report it via your national reporting scheme (in the UK, the MHRA Yellow Card scheme). If you report a suspected adverse event to Praktiki, we may be required to pass the report, including your contact details, to the relevant marketing authorisation holder and/or regulatory authority.
